How Summer Reading Club Works
1. Register |
Registration begins June 1. 2 different ways to register: 1. Register yourself and family online. Either click this link on a computer or download the Beanstack app on mobile devices. Log your own reading. *If you registered through Beanstack last year, use the same login. 2. Register in person at the library. |
There are 4 age groups.
Babies 0-23 months |
![]() Read to your children aged 0-23 months old so they can earn a prize this summer.
1. Read 30 picture books together. |
![]() For kids aged 2 years to those going into 5th grade, prizes can be earned for reading upto 500 minutes. This can include individual reading or reading as a family.
After 100 minutes, receive a bouncy ball |
![]() Teens who are going into 6th-12th grade can earn prizes for completing up to 500 minutes of reading. After 200 minutes of reading, receive a notebook & laptop stickers After 500 minutes of reading, receive a squid hat Complete the challenge of reading 500 additional minutes and be entered into a drawing at the end of the summer for a $10 gift card |
![]() Adults over 18 years old can read and earn prizes and be entered into a drawing for various prizes at the end of summer. *The first 200 people to read 5 books will get an Oceans of Possibilities tote bag or a Charlestown-Clark County Public Library lunch bag. *The first person at each branch to read 10 books will get a JayC gift card. *Grand prize drawings: At the end of the summer, all participants who read at least 1 book will be entered into a drawing for the following prizes: a bag of books for one person at each branch, a gift card to Xscape Movie Theatre, and Gift cards to various restaurants |

Cultural Pass is for youth aged 0-21 years old who register for the Summer Reading Club 2022. Participants must come to one of our libraries to receive the pass.
The 2022 Cultural Pass is a one-of-a-kind program that supports and encourages lifelong learning by providing access to art and cultural institutions in the Louisville area. Use the pass at 57 venues for FREE admission. There are both in-person and virtual venues. Pass is valid from June 1 – September 4. Visit culturalpass.org to learn more! Cultural Pass is presented in partnership with Fund for the Arts, Louisville Metro Government, Greater Louisville Arts & Culture Alliance, Louisville Free Public Library, Bullitt County Public Library, Charlestown Clark County Public Library, The Floyd County Library, and Harrison County Public Library. |
