presented by Dr. David West Reynolds

Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Raiders of the Lost Ark with an evening with Dr. David West Reynolds! Reynolds is an archaeologist, a New York Times #1 best-selling Star Wars author, & a former Lucasfilm employee. Learn about how he tracked down the original filming locations and the places the “real” Indiana Jones was supposed to have been.

Analyzing the Paranormalghost

Join Brian Laythe, Ph.D., director of the Institute for the Study of Religious and Anomalous Experience, to discuss how various experts examine and try to understand paranormal phenomena.

We will cover biological, psychological, and spiritual perspectives, and the problems with assumptions in each perspective. Finally, we will discuss Haunted People Syndrome and the interactionist perspective to understand hauntings and high strangeness. Open to teens and adults.

Measuring the Paranormal

Join Brian Laythe, Ph.D., director of the Institute for the Study of Religious and Anomalous Experience, to discuss and apply scientific measurement with haunted locations using MESA III, an Android app that assists investigators in collecting data within haunted locations.

We will break out into groups and collect data within the library while letting citizen scientists learn how environmental haunting data is collected. Open to teens and adults.
